I enjoyed the flavorful taste of the islands at 30,000 feet, adding to the immersive Caribbean experience. For those who prefer a more relaxed pre-flight experience, Caribbean Airlines offers a pop-up lounge at JFK airport departure gates on level 3 towards A-Course, near Gate A. This was nice for unwinding before takeoff and provided a light breakfast, snack options, and coffee and tea. There is no bathroom in the lounge, but it is easily accessed in the hallway outside near McDonalds, and there are no screens for departure updates. The comfortable seating made it a nice escape from the usual airport bustle and worked well as I traveled with a group.

With features like easy booking management, flight updates, and digital boarding passes, the app truly made my experience smooth from start to finish. It even gave me fast access to baggage drop as I departed the islands.

My stay in one of the partial oceanview rooms with balcony tranquility soaking tub was a dream come true. Waking up to the sound of the birds and enjoying my morning reading on the terrace was a daily highlight, followed by an early stroll on the grounds to watch the sign rise over the mountains.

I took full advantage of an afternoon to see what was under the sea in the most incredible blue waters and spent my days relaxing between the pools and the beach.

If you need some deep relaxation, the Red Lane Spa offers rejuvenating treatments in a tranquil setting. After a day of exploring, it is the perfect treat.

Of course, staying at Sandals St. Vincent is about more than enjoying the resort’s amenities. The island of St. Vincent itself is a hidden treasure, with plenty to offer the adventurous traveler. From hiking the famous La Soufrière Volcano to exploring the beautiful Botanical Gardens in Kingstown, there is no shortage of things to see and do.

During my stay, I saw the small local bats flying about at dusk, but I did not get to make an excursion to their cave. Other ventures include visiting the nearby Grenadine islands.
