When you think of Australia, your mind probably rolls off things such as Kangaroos, Sydney Opera House, The Great Barrier Reef, and the Outback.  All true iconic landmarks and symbols of this vast land.  However, when visiting Australia you should be sure to include an indigenous experience and get a taste of one of the world's longest surviving cultures.

The indigenous people of Australia are know as Aboriginals.  There are many ways, no matter which state or territory you visit in Australia to include a taste of their culture in your vacation experience.  Experiences are available for all levels and interests among travelers.

Here is a list of just some of the many ways to include .

  • Festivals and Events-There are always many festivals going on throughout the year. Schedule your travel around these events for an extra special experience.
  • Art and Culture-Add tours or find art galleries to add to your itinerary. Even take a workshop and create your own art.
  • Active Adventures-Canoeing, Camel rides or a try a Cattle Muster to give yourself a deeper insight into the land's magic.
  • Food Adventures-Try some " Bush Tucker", traditional Aboriginal food.  Learn how they gather, hunt and cook.  With so many resources available to them the Aboriginal have been very creative with what the land has provided.Dreamtime 2013 Uluru
  • Day Tours-Just in for a short visit, than tack on a day trip.  Cities such as Sydney have day tours that can take you out into the Outback to experience a day on the land.
  • Urban Culture-And speaking of cities, you don't even have to leave the city to get a taste. Visit museums or take a tour where guides can tell you of pivotel points in history.
  • Bush and Outback-Head out into the land and visit rock art and listen to dreamtime stories.

There truly are so many ways for you to experience the uniqueness and magic of Australia. Don't let your trip go by without including an indigenous experience that will be unforgettable.
